Hi, I’m Will – and my story is anything but typical.

 

At 25, I was listed on the BRW Fast 100 (ranked #32) by the Australian Financial Review. A year later, I was bankrupt.

 

Like many young founders, I was full of ambition but lacked financial literacy. I didn’t understand the fundamentals of bookkeeping, and I took advice from accountants more interested in selling financial products than helping me build a sustainable business. That hard lesson became the turning point.

 

After the fallout, I went back to study – completing my Postgraduate Degree in Commerce at Sydney University – determined to never make the same mistakes again.

 

I then found a new path: helping international students. I started working as a teacher and education agent with Australian colleges, which eventually led me to the Philippines. There, I began recruiting students to train in the health and community care sectors. Just as things were gaining traction, the Australian government cracked down on international student migration – using them as a scapegoat for the housing crisis (while conveniently ignoring issues like negative gearing and generational wealth hoarding).

 

But amidst that chaos, I’d already laid the foundations for something new.

 

I had incorporated Australian Pathways and opened an office in the Philippines to support students locally. Around the same time, friends and family in business were asking me for help: they needed quality staff, but couldn’t keep up with the rising costs of doing business in Australia. Together with two mates – one in architecture, one in customer service – we started Offshored.

 

Offshored was born out of necessity. It was a response to real problems faced by real business owners – including myself.

 

Today, Offshored connects Australian businesses with highly capable offshore talent across bookkeeping, admin, customer service, and more – with oversight from experienced Australian professionals to ensure quality and transparency.

 

My story isn’t polished. But it’s real. And Offshored exists to support people like you – business owners who want to grow sustainably, without sacrificing quality or burning out under local overheads.
